The TCS Rural IT Quiz, 2011 was held in 6 different states of India. 13,00,000 students from various schools got involved, among whom, the preliminary rounds were conducted.
The Prelims was a written test comprising of questions of various levels. The top scoring six teams out of all the schools in a city were made to face the 2nd Phase of the Preliminary rounds, and was an on-stage quiz.
The Winner at that stage got a TCS Haversack bag, a sipper, 5 Quiz Books, and 3 air tickets to and fro Bangalore. Our team, representing D.A.V Public School, Gandhinagar, Ranchi, were the winners at this level, and consequently, went to Bangalore to face the National Finals on 19th October, 2011.
In a similar manner, top six teams from six different states of the country were selected and invited to Bangalore.
We had the National Finals of the TCS Rural IT Quiz, 2011 held at Bangalore on 19th, quiz-mastered by the reknowned Giri Balasubramanium (Pickbrain).
The teams were from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and ours, Jharkhand.
The quiz was of 5 rounds, hence which, the scores were as follows:
Karnataka (Winners): 60
Madhya Pradesh (1st Runners Up): 55
Jharkhand (2nd Runners Up): 50
Maharashtra: 35
Gujarat: 20
Rajasthan: 10
Our team could end up becoming the 2nd Runners Up, which comprised of Abhishek Bhattacharya, and Dhaval Chauhan of DAV Gandhinagar.
